We've recently returned to the Historic Dock Street Theatre. This jewel in Charleston's artistic crown has undergone an extensive $19 million renovation and we are as excited as the rest of the community to return to this wonderful space.

Renovations costs do not, however, cover the moving costs associated with relocating our offices from our Mt. Pleasant studios back to the Dock Street, nor do they fund the computer, phone or office equipment we will need in our new offices. In addition we hope to secure additional specialized stage, sound, and lighting equipment to put even more magic in our productions such as a star drop, fog machines, etc. We have created a Homecoming Fund to subsidize these extra one-time costs. We invite you to make a generous donation today to ensure Charleston Stage's smooth transition back to this world-class performing space.

As a nonprofit organization, Charleston Stage relies on tax-deductible contributions to support its productions and its education programs. Each year individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies contribute to the success of Charleston Stage. Philanthropic gifts account for about 53% of the annual costs of producing our season of plays and educating hundreds of Lowcountry youth through our extensive Education Program.

In the last 32 years, Charleston Stage has produced more than 300 productions, presented over 5,000 performances, and played to an audience of over one million. Since 1978, more than half a million young people have benefited from Charleston Stage's extensive arts education programs. In the past year alone we played to over 40,000 theatregoers. Financial support by those who believe in the work of Charleston Stage is an essential part of creating quality productions and delivering comprehensive education and outreach programs to Charlestonians.

In September we will producing our first production back at the Historic Dock Street Theatre and with your support, we will continue to produce live theatre stronger than ever.
