Performance Troupes

Geared towards advanced students (grades 4-8). Information for auditioning for Performance troupes for the 2010-11 Season will be posted in december.

Performance Troupes are for advanced students (Grades 4-8) who want school year long training and performance opportunities. Charleston Stage TheatreSchool offers two performance troupes:

Theatricals (grades 4-5)
KidStage (grades 6-8)

WHAT TO PREPARE
Students need to prepare two monologues that are one minute or less in length each. The two monologues should allow the student to show two different types of characters. Monologues should be memorized, but even more importantly, they should be performed complete with strong character choices, emotions and movement. It is more interesting to watch an actor perform a piece, than to have them read from a script.

Performance Troupes are for advanced students who want school year long training and performance opportunities. Charleston Stage TheatreSchool offers two performance troupes: Theatricals (grades 4-5) and KidStage (grades 6-8). KidStage and Theatricals meet weekly from 4-6 pm every Monday in our Mount Pleasant Studio and have performance opportunities during the year with Charleston Stage’s MainStage and Family Series productions. Performance Troupes require a major commitment in time and effort, and strict attendance at all workshops is expected. Admission to Performance Troupes is by audition only.
