Managing Director

 
CHARLESTON STAGE, South Carolina’s Largest Resident Professional Theatre, in residence at the Historic Dock Street Theatre, and celebrating its 40th Anniversary season, seeks an experienced Managing Director to manage and oversee general operations including finance, marketing, box office operations, human resources, and development. ORGANIZATION PROFILE
Charleston Stage, now celebrating its 40th Anniversary, in residence at the Historic Dock Street Theatre in Charleston, South Carolina, produces 6 MainStage productions and 3 Family Series shows each season. Charleston Stage has a major commitment to education reaching over 18,000 students annually through classes, apprenticeships, summer camps, and school matinees. Charleston Stage’s operational budget is $2.4 million and operates with a full-time staff of 25.

 
The successful candidate for this position will have:

· A minimum of 5 years experience in management in a non-profit theatre setting.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and successful experience working with staff, artists, board members, volunteers, foundations, and community and business leaders.

· Experience in team building and staff development.

· Exceptional financial expertise to understand non-profit accounting and cash-flow analysis.

· Experience managing human resources.

· Ability to analyze financial and other data in the development of strategic plans.

· Solid scheduling, organization, and task management skills.

· Demonstrated experience in soliciting governmental, foundation, corporate, and private gifts

· A major commitment to arts education.

 

 

 

Box Office Associates

 
Charleston Stage, South Carolina's largest professional theatre company, in residence at the Historic Dock Street Theatre, seeks candidates for Box Office Associates during the 2017-18 season. Applicants must be a team player and possess great customer services skills with proficiency on a PC and MAC. These are seasonal, hourly paid positions for nights and weekends with occasional daytime hours available (January 2017 - April 2018).
