Meet the Artists at the Heart of It All

The Resident Actor Program was founded by Charleston Stage founder Julian Wiles in 1998 to train emerging theatre professionals while serving the Lowcountry through the power of live theatre. More than 25 years later, we continue that legacy by selecting a group of young actors each season to perform in our MainStage and Family Series productions, lead educational workshops, perform in School Matinees, and take part in outreach that inspires the next generation of theatre lovers.

As a producing company, every show is designed, built, rehearsed, and performed right here in our own backyard. This level of artistry is only possible because of supporters like you. As a nonprofit, ticket revenue and memberships cover only a portion of what it takes to create exceptional theatre, so today we invite you to invest in the artists who make it all possible.
