Why Schedule a Group

Six Reasons Groups Love the Dock Street

A Great Historic Location

Every performance takes place at the Historic Dock Street Theatre, America's First Theatre, in the heart of downtown Charleston. The theatre recently completed a $19 million renovation and sits near some of the finest restaurants the city has to offer.

The Biggest Shows in Town

Full-scale Broadway musicals, dramatic plays, side-splitting comedies, and enchanting productions for families. There is something for every group.

Professional Casts

Productions feature Charleston Stage's Professional Resident Acting Company, guest actors from New York, and more than 100 of Charleston's finest actors, singers, dancers, musicians, directors, choreographers, and designers.

An Award-Winning Company

Charleston Stage has been voted Best Local Theater Company by Charleston City Paper readers and Best Live Theatre Group by Post and Courier readers, and the Dock Street Theatre has won Best Building.

Amazing Savings

Enjoy dramatic savings off the cost of tickets when you book a group of 10 or more, plus one free ticket for your group organizer.

Content Guides

A downloadable guide is available on each show's page so you can decide if a production suits your group. Guides cover content, themes, age recommendations, background on the creators, trivia, and more.

How It Works

How to Schedule a Group Booking

1

Determine Your Group Numbers

Decide how many are coming and complete the online order form using the Reserve Now button. Open the order form →

2

Choose Your Pricing Tier

Charleston Stage offers several tiers and pricing levels based on where your group is seated. Note a preferred tier (1, 2, or 3) on your form and we will do our best to accommodate it based on availability. View the seating chart →

3

Booking & Invoicing

Once you submit your order form, an invoice is emailed to you with the performance date, time, ticket count, and total. A non-refundable 50% deposit is due within 7 days of the invoice date, and payment in full is due at least two weeks before your performance.

4

Processing Fees

If payment is made by credit card, a $3 processing fee per ticket is added to your order. If payment is made by check or ACH, no processing fees are added.

5

Your Tickets

Tickets can be reserved in any of the tiers (1, 2, or 3) as available. Tier P is not available at group rates but can be added to any group reservation at full price. Tickets are emailed, or mailed on request.

6

Payment Deadlines

Each booking must be paid in full two weeks before the performance. If full payment is not received by the deadline, any tickets not covered by payments to date are released to the public and no refund is offered. In the unlikely event a performance is cancelled, we will attempt to reschedule your group; if that is not possible, you may choose a voucher for a later production or convert the ticket value into a tax-deductible donation.

7

Need to Adjust Your Numbers?

Once your 50% deposit is received, you may raise or lower your group count until two weeks before the performance, when final numbers and the balance are due in full.
