Free arts-integrated workshops that weave together ELA and theatre. Students explore literature through creative drama, improvisation, movement, and music.
Out of the Box workshops are designed to ignite the imagination and engage students. By weaving together ELA and theatre, students gain a deeper understanding of the text, learn to analyze theme, and develop critical-thinking skills. They discover how to effectively communicate ideas, emotions, and narratives while building confidence in their voices.
These workshops foster collaboration, encouraging students to work together in a creative and supportive environment that enhances comprehension and retention of literary concepts. Best of all, they're easy for teachers to use.
Charleston Stage is an Arts Grow SC collective network partner. The Out of the Box project is funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
