About the Show

The World's Most Popular Musical

Set in early 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells the story of Jean Valjean, a former prisoner hunted for decades by the relentless Inspector Javert after he breaks parole. Against a backdrop of revolution and rebellion, Valjean seeks redemption, raises an orphaned child, and is swept into the fight for a better tomorrow.

With one of the most thrilling scores in musical theatre, including “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” and “Bring Him Home,” this epic of the human spirit closes Charleston Stage's season on the historic Dock Street stage.
