Playfest is the annual TheatreSchool spring performance. This spectacular event brings together students from kindergarten to 12th grade to showcase their talent, creativity, and love for the performing arts. This showcase is a celebration of their hard work, growth, and achievements throughout the year in both acting and musical theatre.

Students of all ages will take the stage to captivate the audience with their acting skills, singing prowess, and captivating dance moves. The showcase features a diverse range of performances, including scenes, musical numbers from iconic shows, and original pieces created by the students themselves.

show breakdown: please see below for the classes in each show, including call times, house openS, and performance times. If you have a question about the class your child attends please reach out.

Call time is the time the students need to be at the West Ashley Theatre Center, before the show.

PlayFest 2024 Schedule

Costumes/Hair/Make-up:

All students should arrive with black pants (yoga or stretchy pants are fine), black shoes (close-toed, not crocs, sneakers are fine), and their PlayFest T-shirt (which will go home the week before the show). We will have all the other costume pieces for them to put on here. Hair should be neat and off the face; no makeup.

Arrival

Students should arrive at their call time at the studio door, the double door closest to Pivtotal Fitness, not the main door. There will be a table for check-in, and students will be taken to the holding room.

Tickets:

Tickets for the shows will go on sale April 1st. Tickets are $5 each, with no additional fees.

Given the size of the theatre, there is enough space for each family to purchase 3-4 tickets. There are only 130 seats in the house, and each show has roughly 40 kids. Please help us ensure that all families can see their kids perform. We will video each performance and send a copy out to families to share with those who aren’t able to attend. We know this is not ideal, but we balanced the shows as best we could to allow for the maximum amount of tickets (per show). If there are available tickets towards the end, we’ll reach out and let you purchase more.

You will be able to choose your own seats. We tried to get siblings in the same show, but it wasn’t always possible. If you have kids in two different shows, please reach out, and I’ll give you special ticket information. We will email a link to purchase tickets on April 1st. The theatre doors will open 30 minutes before showtime, and we will start the shows on time.

Student Release:

After the show, students will collect their things and be released from the same door where they were dropped off. The double doors that are closest to Pivotal Fitness.
