By purchasing a Charleston Stage season membership, or tickets to any Charleston Stage event, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

  • ACTIVE MILITARY DISCOUNT: Active military members, their partners and dependents qualify for a discounted ticket price. Discount cannot be applied retroactively and must be selected during the checkout process.

  • ADA COMPLIANCE: The Dock Street Theatre is a disability accessible facility and offers accommodations for patrons needing accessible seating. Accessible seating is found in row P of the downstairs orchestra, and seat DD 1 in the balcony. Accessible seating can be reserved by calling the Box Office. Hearing assistive devices can also be obtained by visiting the Box Office up to an hour before your performance. Note that you will be asked to leave an ID card in exchange for the device, which will be returned to you when the device is returned.

  • AGE RESTRICTIONS/BABES IN ARMS: Children under 3 years of age are not permitted in the theatre. Additionally, all attendees must have their own ticket and their own seat. Failure to comply with these policies will result in forfeiture of tickets without a refund. Additionally, we recommend that all parents/guardians review the parent guide for each production prior to purchasing tickets to a performance. Applicable content warnings will be provided in the parent guide.

  • CONTENT WARNINGS: Similarly, all patrons concerned with the content of a production should review the warnings found in the content guides, as well as do their own research on the production. Charleston Stage is not responsible for content found offensive and no refunds or credits will be issued on that basis.

  • CANCELLATION/EXCHANGE POLICY: Charleston Stage reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events as necessary, though it is the policy of Charleston Stage to only do so in the most extenuating of circumstances (ie: severe weather event/natural disaster, government mandates, public health crisis, etc.) In the unlikely event of a performance cancellation or postponement, we will make all attempts to reschedule patrons into a new performance date. If that is not possible, you will have the option to receive a voucher for a later production, or convert the value of your ticket into a tax-deductible donation. No refunds will be issued.
    • If you find yourself unable to attend a performance, refunds will not be issued. If you’d like to exchange your tickets for a different date, we can do so with advance notice for a $5 per ticket exchange fee. This fee is waived for all current season members. Tickets can only be exchanged for a different date of the same production, pending seating availability. If seats of an equal value are not available, no credit will be given in the difference of the ticket cost. Once a performance has begun, no exchanges will be made.

  • DISCOUNTS: Charleston Stage, at its discretion, may offer sales or discounts on select tickets. Discount offers cannot be applied to previously purchased tickets or in other ways prohibited by the ticket offer. Ongoing discounts include student, senior and active military pricing as well as discount on groups of 10 or more.

  • GROUP RATES: Groups of 10 or more qualify for a discount on ticket pricing and other special offers, at the discretion of Charleston Stage and the Sales Manager. This must be coordinated with the Sales Manager in advance of your purchase. Group rates cannot be applied to previously purchased tickets.

  • LATE ARRIVALS: Ticket sales will close 15 minutes after curtain. Previously purchased tickets will still be honored if you arrive late, though seating times and placement will be at the discretion of the House Manager to provide the least disruption to the performance. Your ticketed seats are not guaranteed if you arrive late.

  • PAY-AS-YOU-PLEASE PERFORMANCES: Charleston Stage typically offers “Pay-as-you-please” performances for each of our 6 Mainstage productions. There will be a minimum, very reduced price for your ticket with the option of paying more as a donation to support Charleston Stage. We make no guarantees of Pay-as-you-please performances, or seating availability. We typically do not offer advanced sales for these performances, and all tickets will be released online 24 hours prior to the performance. Charleston Stage reserves the right to adjust this policy and sell or withhold advanced tickets at their discretion.

  • PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY: Any person entering any of Charleston Stage’s performances or facilities are agreeing to be photographed or video recorded for use in Charleston Stage promotional materials and other publications. Patrons may not video record or photograph any portion of a live performance.

  • SENIOR DISCOUNT: Patrons 60 years of age or older at the time of purchase qualify for a discounted ticket price. Discount cannot be applied retroactively and must be selected during the checkout process. There is no senior pricing for season memberships.

  • SCHOOL MATINEES: Charleston Stage holds school matinee performances of select productions at a discounted rate. Tickets to these performances must be purchased in advance by a school/teacher through the Sales Manager. Home school families are welcome, but tickets will not be sold directly to individuals or at the door. All tickets must be purchased by the school group.

  • STUDENT TICKETS: Students who are under 25 years of age qualify for reduced season ticket prices and reduced advanced ticket sales of our Mainstage productions. Discount cannot be applied retroactively and must be selected during the checkout process. Students who are under 25 years of age and have a valid student ID, also qualify for $10 student rush tickets. These tickets are sold in-person only beginning 1 hour prior to each performance. You must specifically request the student rush special. Seating is at the discretion of the Box Office Associate on duty and availability is not guaranteed.

  • SEATING: Please consider all of your seating needs prior to purchasing a ticket. Refunds will not be issued due to seat selection. We operate on a tiered seating system. Premium Seating (Tier P) is considered to be the first 2 rows of the center balcony, and Tier 1 seats can be found in the center orchestra, as well as the aisle seats in house left and right. Tier 3 seats are considered to be partial view seats and are discounted accordingly. If you wish to view the theatre prior to purchasing, the Dock Street Theatre is a city owned building, and is generally open to the public during the business day. Accessible seating is available in the orchestra and balcony, and can be purchased online or by calling the Box Office. Please note that the Dock Street Theatre is a historic building and is owned by the City of Charleston, so Charleston Stage Company has no control over the physical seats or seating arrangement. In extremely rare cases, there may be instances where a seat has inadvertently been double booked or made otherwise unavailable. In the case of such an occurrence, Charleston Stage Box Office Staff will make every attempt to accommodate patrons in a seat of equal or greater value. If this is not possible, a refund for the difference in the ticket price will be issued. If patrons choose not to see the performance, they can receive a voucher for a future performance instead. No refunds will be given.
