Charleston Stage has one of the oldest and largest arts education programs for young people in the region. Led by Marybeth Clark, Associate Artistic Director and Director of Education, and Sam Henderson, Resident Music Director and Director of Music Education, Charleston Stage's TheatreSchool classes are taught by ten full-time professional actors who make up the Resident Acting Company. These actor/educators join Charleston Stage for a 10-month artist-in-residence and teacher training program. They perform in leading roles throughout the season while also teaching youth theatre classes and ArtReach Workshops in local schools.

 

Molly BurrisMolly Burris
Molly is very grateful to join Charleston Stage this season. Originally from Austin Texas, Molly is a recent Musical Theatre graduate from The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University. Some of her favorite credits at Webster include Madge (Picnic), Princess (Love’s Labour’s Lost), Luisa (The Fantasticks), and Daphne (Fly By Night). Katelyn CrallKatelyn Crall
Katelyn is a second year Resident Actor originally from Saratoga, New York. She is a recent graduate of SUNY Fredonia with A B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. Past Charleston Stage credits include: Aslan in The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, Emily Hobbs in Elf: The Musical, Urleen in Footloose, Woman in Balcony/ Woman Amongst Dead in Our Town and others! Logan EdrisLogan Edris
Logan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Western Illinois University. His recent credits include: Shrek in Shrek the Musical, King Charles in Pippin, Francis in One Man, Two Guvnors, and Feldzig in The Drowsy Chaperone. K’nique is originally from Columbia, South Carolina but moved to Brevard, North Carolina where he earned a B.A. in Music and Theatre. He recently graduated May 2021. His recent credits include: The Last Five Years (Jamie), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey II), Into The Woods (Jack), Streetcar Named Desire (Stanley) and more. Jerquintez Gipsonjerquintez a. gipson
Jerquintez, a new Resident Actor with Charleston Stage, received a B.F.A at The University of Memphis with credits including: EMMA A New Musical (Trevor), Working the Musical (Frank), Trouble in Mind (John) and much more. Jerquintez has also performed in many different shows around Memphis and Mississippi including: Hairspray (Theatre Memphis), Jelly’s Last Jam (Hatiloo Theatre), and more. He enjoys performing any chance he gets and loves to inspire others to never give up. Julia Kelly-Davisjulia kelly-davis
Julia is thrilled to be returning to Charleston Stage for Season 44 as a Second Year Resident Actor! Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, she is a recent graduate of Arizona State University where she received her B.M. in Music Theatre Performance in 2019. You may have recently seen Julia on the Dock Street Stage as Rusty in Footloose, Jovie in Elf The Musical, and Annabel Lee in Nevermore! Voyage Into the Netherworld. Other recent credits include Lilli Vanessi/Kate in Kiss Me, Kate, Vivienne Kensington in Legally Blonde The Musical, and Gingy in Shrek The Musical. Roberto MendezRoberto Méndez

Roberto is thrilled to be joining Charleston Stage for the first time this 44th season as a Resident Actor! Originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico, Roberto recently graduated from Columbus State University with a B.F.A. in Theatre Performance in May 2021. Some of his past credits include Spring Awakening - Ernst (Mill Mountain Theatre), Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story - Ritchie Valens (Highlands Playhouse), Polkadots - Papa Square (Mill Mountain Theatre), Cabaret - Emcee (Columbus State University). Sierra Orrsierra orr
Sierra is over the moon to be a new Resident Actor with Charleston Stage! She is a recent graduate from James Madison University's with a B.A. in Theatre. Previously, she has performed in the premiere production of Walls: An American Story as Abigail, Beauty and the Beast as Belle, How to Bruise Gracefully as Stevie, Intimate Apparel as Mayme where she was a Region II Irene Ryan finalist, The Women as Maggie/Nurse, and others! Cedar Valdezcedar valdez
Cedar received his B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Ouachita Baptist University and is excited to be joining the Charleston Stage team for Season 44! Some of his previous credits include Legally Blonde the Musical (Carlos), A Doll’s House (Torvald Helmer), Junie B. Jones the Musical (Daddy), Oklahoma! (Will Parker), and Fiddler on the Roof (Motel). Cedar is originally from Rogers, AR and he wouldn’t be where he is today without his family, friends, and teachers that helped him get there. Drew H WellsDrew H. Wells
Drew, a new Resident Actor with Charleston Stage, received a B.F.A. at East Carolina University with credits including “Gabe” in next to normal, “Moritz” in Spring Awakening, and “Peter” in Peter and the Starcatcher. Previously, Drew performed at the Texas Shakespeare Festival as “Jack” in Into the Woods, as well as at the Round Barn Theatre as “Gilbert Blythe” in Anne of Green Gables. Originally from Southern Maine, Drew’s family lives in Tennessee and he would like to thank them for dealing with him time and time again. Drew enjoys guitar, juggling, and dry humor.
