SUPPORT CHARLESTON STAGE'S PROFESSIONAL STAGE PRODUCTIONS
AND EXPANDING EDUCATION PROGRAMS BY DONATING
TO OUR ANNUAL CAMPAIGN!
As an actor and teacher at Charleston Stage, I always peek from behind the curtain to see the audience just before the show starts. It’s a special moment for me when I recognize that I am just a small part of making great live theatre, and that’s because of you. I'm writing today to ask you to make a contribution to the Annual Campaign at Charleston Stage.
I’m Colin Waters: Actor, Director, and Education Program Manager. I’ve appeared in about two dozen productions at Charleston Stage and most recently directed Clue: On Stage this season. Later this season, I will appear as The Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol and Don Kirshner in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. I’m so appreciative of all of the versatile dream roles I have played here such as Lennie in the high drama, Of Mice and Men, and Uncle Fester in the musical comedy, The Addams Family. I feel fortunate for my career as an artist and educator and I know it wouldn’t be possible without you and your generous support.
As the Education Program Manager for the past five years, I engage with kids from Pre-K to High School and watch them grow as students, performers, and people. Students from throughout the Lowcountry participate in acting classes at our state of the art facility, the West Ashley Theatre Center. We also conduct numerous in-school arts-integration workshops and classes throughout greater Charleston and reach underserved, rural schools regionally.
From our productions at the historic Dock Street Theatre, to our classes at the West Ashley Theatre Center, we unite every corner of the Lowcountry community through the power and magic of live theatre.
And there’s a role for you to play too. Join me in making Charleston a richer place to live by making a donation to our Annual Campaign. The quality of life here in the Lowcountry cannot be matched and that is due to the thriving cultural variety we enjoy and exceptional arts learning we can provide for our kids. We sustain this through generous contributions that enable Charleston Stage to flourish and grow.
Thank you for making my passion possible. Theatre has molded me into a more well-rounded, articulate, and emotionally intelligent person. Your generosity ensures a thriving theatre scene in our community. I cannot wait to see you the next time I peek out from behind the curtain.
