Accessible Parking/Loading
The Dock Street Theatre is located at 135 Church Street, Charleston, SC 29401. There is street parking directly in front of the building and metered parking is free with a valid handicap placard. There is also a loading zone located on either side of the street in front of the building as well.
Patrons can also use the Cumberland Street Garage at 90 Cumberland Street, Charleston, SC 29401 on the corner of Cumberland and Church two blocks down from the Dock Street Theatre with handicap spaces on the first level.
Accessible Entrance
Located to the left of the main entrance, to the side of the Box Office lobby, is an accessible entrance for wheelchairs/walkers/etc. It will cut through our courtyard and lead into our Box Office lobby. From there we have a ramp to our main lobby and into the theatre. For Balcony seating, there is an elevator located inside the theatre on the first floor next to the orchestra seating in house left.
Accessible Seating
We offer a row of free standing chairs in row P of the downstairs Orchestra section that can be moved to accommodate a wheelchair or other physical accessibility needs. There is also space for a wheelchair in section DD of the balcony. These seats are available for purchase in the same ways as all other tickets. If you have more specific needs or requests for how we can best accommodate you, please contact the Box Office and an associate will be happy to assist.
Hearing Devices
We offer two types of hearing devices- the Sennheiser HDI 302 which is a wireless headset accessible to all patrons and the Sennheiser EKI 830 which connects to existing hearing aids (with a “T” setting). To use either of these, please see a Box Office Associate prior to your performance and provide an ID which will be held while the device is checked out. You will be able to turn in your headset and retrieve your ID from the concierge desk at the end of your performance.
ASL Performances
We are excited to offer ASL accessible performances for the 2024-2025 Season. ASL-interpreted performances are funded in part by The Wiles Fund for the Future and the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support for the National Endowment for the Arts.

Companion Tickets
