CHARLESTON STAGE AUDITIONS
Charleston Stage’s annual auditions are for members of the community interested in performing with Charleston Stage. Auditions are open to adults and high school students (rising Grades 9-12). While Charleston Stage has a Resident Acting Company and employs guest actors, community actors make up a large portion of our acting company each season, playing leading, as well as, supporting roles. Newcomers are welcome!
Legally Blonde AUDITION NOTICE – LOCAL ACTORS ONLY
On Sunday, October 20th, 2024, Charleston Stage is holding open LOCAL ACTOR auditions for our upcoming production of LEGALLY BLONDE for the following roles:
Mr. Callahan – Male; 40’s-50’s; a strong baritone singer and actor; the villain of our story
Kyle/Dewey/Ensemble – Male; 30’s; attractive and very well built; sings and dances well
Pillar – Female; High School – 20’s; one of the 3 member “Greek Chorus”; a strong singer, dancer and actor
Various young (high school – 20’s) female ensemble tracks including featured roles; strong singers and dancers needed
Various young (high school – 20’s) male ensemble tracks including featured roles; strong singers and dancers needed
REHEARSAL DATES: March 4 – April 2, 2025
TECH DATES: April 3 – 8, 2025
PERFORMANCE DATES: April 9 – May 4, 2025
STIPEND FOR ALL ROLES: $1,250.00
*This audition is for Charleston based actors ONLY. There is no housing or travel funding available for this show.

PERFORMANCE TROUPES
PERFORMANCE TROUPES are weekly classes for advanced students and admittance is by audition only. Auditions are held once a year. Students in Performance Troupe train in acting and singing weekly with movement included as needed. They are the only students (younger than high school) permitted to audition for Charleston Stage professional productions.
TUITION: $800 for Classes August 2024 - April 2025

RESIDENT ACTOR PROGRAM
Charleston Stage is South Carolina's largest professional non-union theatre. Our Resident Actor Program is an intensive 12-month program that allows its participants to combine multiple performance opportunities with a well-structured and practical teacher training program. Our company is in residence at the Historic Dock Street Theatre and presents a Main Stage series of six full productions as well as a Family Series of two to three productions each season. In addition, our CityStage program and other educational outreach programs provide opportunities for artists to engage with the community through theatre performance and education.
