Nevermore Web

Nevermore! Voyage Into the Netherworld tells the remarkable story of Edgar Allan Poe when he boarded a steamer in 1847 in Baltimore for an overnight trip to New York. Five days later, never having arrived in New York, Poe was found wandering the Baltimore streets delirious and raving mad. Taken to a nearby tavern, he soon died. His death and final days remain a mystery. Nevermore speculates on what might have happened on that final dreary nightmare voyage. The play features scenes from Poe’s own stories, The Telltale Heart, The Gold Bug, The Cask of the Amontillado, and more, and includes Poe’s real visit to Sullivan’s Island in 1817, where some speculate he met the love of his life —Annabel Lee.

Education/Parent Guide

We are always excited to share live theatre with young audiences, but we know that parents and teachers may want more information on play content and specific issues when deciding if a show is appropriate for viewing. Our recommendation for Nevermore: Voyage Into the Netherworld is for ages 11 & up, however we encourage adults to view our Parent/Education guide to make the best decision for your child. You can download the Parent/Education guide below.
